Attio Alternatives: CRMs Compared for Outbound-Led Teams
Summarize with AI
The best Attio alternatives depend on where outbound work should live. Pipedrive fits a conventional sales CRM with sequences explicitly built for cold or warm leads. Apollo puts prospect data and sequencing ahead of deep CRM design. Close centers communication workflows, HubSpot suits consent-based sales follow-up and reporting, and Copper fits a Google Workspace-centered team. Keep Attio when its flexible data model is the priority and connect a separate cold-outreach system.
How to compare Attio alternatives for outbound sales
Attio remains a strong baseline for teams that value configurable records and relationships. Its Free plan costs $0. Plus costs $44 per user monthly or $35 per user each month on annual billing, and Pro costs $99 or $79. A comparison must also include the separate sending product, migration work, and any enrichment usage.
Attio's official email guidance says its sender is for existing customers or warm leads who expect contact. It explicitly says not to use Attio for cold sales outreach. Attio's official Outreach integration can create prospects, enroll them in Outreach sequences, and react to sequence events, but Outreach is a separate product.
Decide whether the CRM should remain the system of record while a separate platform sends cold outreach, or whether more of the outbound motion should sit inside one product. Compare each option on five factors:
- Confirm that its published policy and documentation support the sending motion you intend to run.
- Check whether enrichment fills the fields your team needs and how the vendor meters that work.
- Require reporting that covers pipeline, rep activity, and sequence performance at the selected plan.
- Test whether migration preserves relationships, activities, and stage history rather than contacts alone.
- Calculate the required plan, seats, add-ons, and annual commitment together.
| Option | Best fit | Sequence or sending boundary | Annual public price shown | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attio | Flexible CRM plus a separate cold-outreach tool | Native sending excludes cold sales outreach | Free; Plus $35/user/month; Pro $79/user/month | Separate sending product adds cost and orchestration |
| Pipedrive | CRM-first outbound team | Sequences explicitly cover cold or warm leads on Growth and above | €14 to €79/user/month on the French page | Enrichment entitlements vary by tier and add-on |
| Apollo | Data and outbound execution first | Pricing includes sequences and deliverability tools | $0 to $119/user/month; Organization has a 3-seat minimum | Buyer must validate CRM and migration depth |
| Close | Communication-heavy sales team | Growth and Scale include multi-channel workflows | $9 to $139/user/month | Workflows begin at Growth, not the lower tiers |
| HubSpot | Consent-based follow-up plus broader reporting | Sending requires express, verifiable consent | Confirm current Sales Hub configuration | Not a cold-list sending route |
| Copper | Google Workspace-centered CRM | Bulk email uses Gmail; Business adds email series | $23 to $99/user/month | Cold-outreach suitability is not established by the cited product pages |
Prices in the table are monthly equivalents on annual billing where the vendor publishes that format. Pipedrive's values come from its public French pricing page and remain in euros. Taxes, usage credits, add-ons, and separate sending infrastructure are not included.
Pipedrive is the closest CRM-first replacement
Pipedrive is the most direct alternative for a team that wants pipeline management and native outbound steps in the same product. Its French pricing page lists annual rates of €14 for Lite, €39 for Growth, €59 for Premium, and €79 for Ultimate per seat each month.
The key distinction is documented use, not just whether the function exists. Pipedrive's Sequences guide says sequences can nurture cold or warm leads. At the time of verification, Sequences were available on Growth and higher, with up to 15 steps and 500 leads or deals in a sequence.
Pipedrive's sales reporting covers leads, deals, activities, campaigns, and projects. Data enrichment is available on higher tiers, with person enrichment on Premium requiring an add-on. Its Import2 route supports Attio and can map pipelines, stages, and custom fields, although every team should run a sample migration before assuming full historical parity.
Pipedrive fits sellers who want a familiar deal pipeline with cold or warm follow-up coordinated inside the CRM. Keep Attio when the migration sample proves that Pipedrive cannot preserve the custom relationships the team uses each week.
Apollo is the outbound-first option
Apollo combines a B2B database, sequences, enrichment, analytics, and deal management. Its annual pricing display lists Free at $0, Basic at $49, Professional at $79, and Organization at $119 per user each month. Organization requires at least three seats.
This bundle can reduce the number of products involved in list building and outbound execution. Apollo documents scheduled, CSV, and API enrichment, while its analytics product covers outbound reports, sequence reports, funnel reports, and custom dashboards. Deal management adds stages, pipeline tracking, and automated updates.
The caution is migration depth. CSV import, export, and CRM integrations do not prove that Attio activities, attachments, relationships, and historical stage changes will transfer intact. Apollo is a credible replacement when the prospecting workflow drives the purchase, but a team with complex objects should test the CRM model using real records before switching.
Retain Attio when the CRM must model company, partner, investor, or lifecycle relationships beyond a standard sales funnel.
Close fits communication-heavy sales workflows
Close publishes annual prices of $9 for Solo, $35 for Essentials, $99 for Growth, and $139 for Scale per user each month. Solo supports only one user account. The lower two plans do not include Workflows, so an automation-led comparison should begin at Growth rather than at the headline entry price.
Close Workflows can combine email, SMS, tasks, and call tasks. They include triggers, communication windows, goals, and stop conditions. Close also documents activity, status-change, sent-email, opportunity pipeline, and opportunity funnel reports. Those named reports are useful evidence, but they do not justify assuming unrestricted custom business intelligence.
Close uses AI credits for enrichment, with six credits consumed per enrichment action at verification. Its Import2 migration supports Attio, mapping, and a sample migration. Close says that route is free in most cases when started from Close, so confirm the scope for your database before treating migration as free.
Budget Close from Growth when workflows drive the switch, then verify the exact enrichment credits and migration scope. Do not compare Attio Pro with Close Solo when the required automation is absent from Solo.
HubSpot fits consent-based follow-up and reporting
HubSpot can make sense when sales follow-up must connect to a broader marketing and reporting environment. Its Sequences are available with assigned seats on Professional or Enterprise products, and its custom report builder on those tiers can combine multiple data sources.
The sending boundary is strict. HubSpot's anti-spam policy requires express, verifiable consent for email sent through its products. That policy does not support unsolicited bulk mail or outreach to prohibited third-party or enrichment lists. HubSpot should therefore be evaluated for permission-based follow-up, not as a substitute cold-email sender.
HubSpot's optional enrichment draws from commercial, third-party, and public sources. Its import process supports spreadsheet mapping, pipeline and stage fields, and unique identifiers for updates or deduplication. We did not verify an Attio-specific assisted migration route, so complex records need a mapped test.
We are deliberately not quoting HubSpot's current promotional pricing. The public page can vary by geography, bundle, seat type, and promotion. Build the comparison from the exact Sales Hub configuration shown at checkout.
Require the proposed HubSpot sending route to pass the anti-spam policy before comparing reports or seats. If the route fails that check, HubSpot cannot replace the cold-outreach layer.
Copper fits teams centered on Google Workspace
Copper publishes monthly rates of $29 for Basic, $69 for Professional, and $134 for Business. Annual billing lowers the displayed monthly equivalents to $23, $59, and $99 per user.
Professional adds Gmail-synced bulk email, workflow automation, and pipeline or activity reports. Business adds email series and custom reports. Copper's bulk-email documentation says messages use Gmail sync and remain subject to Gmail's daily limits.
Copper supports email, but the cited product pages do not establish it as a cold-outreach platform. The inspected first-party pages did not provide a comparable statement to Pipedrive's explicit cold-lead sequence language. Copper also lists import and export, but we did not verify a dedicated Attio migration service or a promise to preserve full history.
Test Copper by importing representative Attio records, sending through the intended Gmail account, and rebuilding the weekly pipeline report. Keep Attio when that test cannot preserve the required history or relationships.
Decide by operating model, not feature count
Start by assigning system ownership. If one person owns CRM structure while another platform owns cold sending, Attio can remain the best choice. The official Outreach integration gives that split a documented route.
Then price the whole operating model. Count required seats, the first plan that contains the needed workflow, enrichment credits or add-ons, migration work, and any separate sending product. A low entry tier is irrelevant when the required workflow begins two plans higher.
Finish by testing every handoff in sequence. Create a prospect, enrich it, enroll it in the intended motion, capture a reply, update the opportunity, and reproduce the weekly pipeline report. That end-to-end test exposes more than a feature checklist.

Frequently Asked Questions
A modern outbound stack includes: data enrichment (Apollo, Clay, ZoomInfo), email infrastructure (Google Workspace, custom domains), sending tools (Smartlead, Instantly), warm-up services (Warmbox), LinkedIn automation (Expandi, Dripify), CRM integration (HubSpot, Salesforce), and analytics platforms. Most agencies use 15–30 tools orchestrated together.
Building your own stack costs $3K–5K/month in software alone, plus a dedicated person to manage it. With a managed service, you get all the tooling plus the expertise to orchestrate it, often at lower total cost. The key question: can you afford to spend 6–8 weeks setting up instead of generating pipeline?
There's no single 'best' tool. It depends on your volume, budget, and integration needs. Smartlead and Instantly are popular for high-volume sending. Apollo doubles as a data and sequencing platform. The real advantage comes from how tools are orchestrated together, not from any single tool choice.
Look for three things: (1) Do you own the infrastructure they build? (2) Are the engagement terms clear, including what happens after the initial build-and-learn period? (3) Can you see transparent metrics and real case studies with specific numbers? LeadHaste starts with a three-month engagement, then moves month-to-month. Avoid vague reporting and providers that own your domains.
Data enrichment is the process of taking basic company or contact data and adding layers of detail: job titles, direct emails, phone numbers, technographics, intent signals, company size, funding stage, and more. Enrichment tools like Apollo, Clay, and ZoomInfo pull from multiple data sources to build a complete prospect profile before outreach begins.
