Case study · DeepInspect · SEO & GEO From zero to 400K impressions and 36K+ AI citations in four months
DeepInspect sells zero-trust enforcement for enterprise AI: a gateway that authorizes, redacts or blocks every AI request and signs a forensic record of each decision. In May 2026 its domain had a Domain Rating of 0, next to no search visibility and very little written about the company anywhere online. OmniCite, our SEO and GEO practice, built its search and AI visibility from scratch.
Domain Rating: Ahrefs. Impressions, clicks and Google AI citations: Google Search Console. Microsoft AI citations: Bing Webmaster Tools. All figures cover the engagement's first four months.
A new company in a small market, with nothing to borrow
No authority
In April 2026 the domain had a Domain Rating of 0 and about 460 search impressions for the whole month, with no archive of content for a search engine to trust.
A small, senior audience
The buyers are CISOs, security architects and the people who own AI governance at large companies. It is a small group, so search volume is low and each visit matters.
Nothing to borrow
Barely any press, reviews or third-party mentions to point to. Search engines and AI models look for corroboration across the web before they trust a source, so the signal had to be built on DeepInspect's own domain.
In enterprise security, every click could be a buyer
DeepInspect sells into a small, specialist market. The searches in its topic map have modest volume, and they are the questions security and compliance teams ask when choosing which controls sit between their company and its AI models.
With limited demand to go around, growth comes from answering as many of the buyer's real questions as possible, taking a large share of the searches that exist, and holding that position as the category grows. Measured that way, 2,000 organic clicks in a niche this narrow is a serious number.

How OmniCite built it
OmniCite ran SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) as one program. The same pages had to rank in Google and be quoted by the AI engines buyers also ask, which meant four things running at once.
- 01
Map the questions buyers ask
A topic map built around how security teams evaluate AI controls: regulation (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, DORA, HIPAA), threats (prompt injection, MCP security), governance (shadow AI) and head-to-head comparisons of AI gateways. One primary keyword per article, so no two pages compete.
- 02
Publish daily
Seven days a week. A domain with no authority has no reputation to lean on, so topical depth has to be built in public, one precise answer at a time.
- 03
Write to be cited
Articles open with how the thing works and answer the question early, with specific names, numbers and dates in place of general commentary. A glossary defines the category's terms, so the site has a clear, quotable answer for each one.
- 04
Track AI answers as a channel
Citations in Google's AI features, Bing and Copilot are tracked beside impressions and clicks, with Ahrefs monitoring and weekly reporting. Each new month's plan is checked against that data.
Each article follows a voice rubric agreed with DeepInspect's founder, written for a technical reader who will notice a vague claim.
Cited more than 36,000 times in AI answers in four months
- Google AI Overviews & AI Mode28K+
- Microsoft Bing, Copilot & partners8K+
AI answers cite sources they can quote and trust. With so little written about DeepInspect elsewhere, these citations were earned by the site's own pages.
Four months in, the engagement is still running. Each new article adds to the depth that helps the next one rank and get cited, so the work builds on itself month after month.
Five lessons from building on a blank domain
- 01
Judge a keyword by who searches it. In enterprise markets, a term with a few dozen monthly searches can matter more than one with thousands.
- 02
With almost no press, reviews or links to borrow, a steady publishing record is how a young domain earns trust.
- 03
Give AI engines something specific to quote: one clear answer per page, and a glossary for the category's terms.
- 04
Treat SEO and GEO as one body of work. A clear, specific answer is what both Google's rankings and AI engines reward.
- 05
Expect a slow first month. May barely registered and impressions climbed sharply through June, while Domain Rating went from under 1 to 24 by mid-September.
Get cited and recommended by AI. Everywhere your buyers ask.
